I thought a little background info on me might be useful and/or interesting to the readers of this blog.  My name is Shala, and I’m a woman in her mid-thirties (OK…later mid-thirties…) living in the Southeastern United States.  While I have undergrad and graduate degrees in business, the majority of my ideas come from the good ol’ school of trial and error.  In fact, I’ve always considered finding new ways to save money a bit of a fun challenge, so I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I can be more frugal without feeling deprived.

In the past I haven’t shared lot of my knowledge about frugality.  However, with some encouragement from friends and relatives, I have now decided to do so several times a month via this blog.   I’m not only hoping that others will find this information helpful, but also that readers will share their own ideas with the “frugal and happy” community via posting comments on the site.  Lots of folks have good ideas about saving money, and we can all learn from each other.
